Product properties
Composition
Each ml contains 50 mg carprofen
Mechanism of Action:
Carproject® is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the propionic acid class that includes ibuprofen, naproxen, and ketoprofen. It exerts its effects via relatively selective inhibition of COX-2 versus COX-1.
Indications of use
Cattle: Carproject® is an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic agent and is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory conditions such as acute mastitis and respiratory disease.
Dosage and route of administration
Cattle: The recommended dosage is 1.4 mg /kg (1ml/35 kg) B.W. This may be given subcutaneously or by intravenous injection as a single dose.
Contraindication:
Do not administer other NSAIDs concurrently or within 24 hours of each other.
Toxic effects can occur when drugs that are highly bound to proteins (such as NSAIDs) compete with other highly bound drugs, leading to excess free drug in plasma.
Do not use where there is possibility of gastrointestinal ulceration or bleeding, in animals suffering from cardiac, renal or hepatic disease or where there is evidence of a blood dyscrasia or hypersensitivity to the product.
Use in animals less than 6 weeks of age or in aged animals may involve additional risk. If prescribed in such cases animals may require a reduced dosage and careful clinical management.
Avoid use in any dehydrated, hypovolaemic or hypotensive animals, as there is a potential risk of increased renal toxicity. Concurrent administration of potentially nephrotoxic drugs should be avoided.

Do not exceed the stated dose or the duration of treatment.
Keep out of reach of children.
