Composition
Each ml contains:
Diminazene Aceturate 70 mg
Mechanism of Action:
Diminazezne irreversibly affects the life cycle of certain protozoal blood parasites and is used for treatment of trypanosomiasis and babesiosis. Normally one injection is enough but in rare cases another shot may be needed 12-24 hours after first one.
Indications of use
Diminazene is used against various species of Babesia including B.canis, B.bovis, B.ovis, and B.equi as well as against trypa-nosomas including T.theileri,T.equinum, T.evansi, T.congolensis, T.vivax and T.equiperdum in various animals.
Dosage and route of administration
In horses only by I.M.injection. In others either I.M. or SC.The dosage rate varies between 2.5 and 7 mg/kg b.w. depending on parasite species and their rate of resistance.
