Product properties

Composition

Each kg of premix contains: 250 g Sulfadimethoxine & 50 g Ormetoprim

Mechanism of Action:

Sulfadimethoxine belongs to the family of sulfonamides and prevents the conversion of para-amino benzoic acid to dihydrofolic acid. Ormetoprim prevents dihydrofolic acid from interfering with the nucleic acid production process. These two substances are bactericidal with synergistic effect on each other. And they are effective against most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria such as Edwardsiella, Aeromonas, Vibrio and Staphylococcus in aquatic animals, especially salmon and trout.

Indications of use

Septicemia caused by Edwardsiella ictalurid

Furunculosis caused by Aeromonas salmonicida

Dosage and route of administration

50 mg of premix per kg of fish for 10 consecutive days.

The weight of the treated fish must first be measured. Then Premix is consumed in the ratio of 5 g of medicine for every 100 kg of fish per day.

1- Medication of feed before pelletizing or extruding:

Due to its heat resistance, this product can be added to feed before being extruded. First, the weight of the treated fish is determined. Then, according to the biomass of the fish and the food consumed, Ormethoxine is added to the food according to the table below.

Daily food intake

(body weight percentage)

Amount of Ormetoxin

per ton of feed (kg)

Biomass (kg of treated fish per ton of feed in 14 days)
1 5/01 7143
2 2/52 3571
3 1/68 2381
4 1/26 1786
5 0/99 1428
6 0/84 1190

2- Medication of feed after pelletizing or extruding:

Prepare the Ormethoxine specified in the table with a 5% gelatin solution and impregnate the feed with this solution. And allow to dry. As a rule, each liter of solution is enough to cover 25 kg of pellets.

Withdrawal Time
