Product properties

Composition

Each lit. contains:

25 ml Toltrazuril

Mechanism of Action:

Freecox® is absorbed at a rate of at least 50%.

The highest concentrations are found in kidney and liver. The active substance does not accumulate and is eliminated from all tissuses with a half-life period of 2 days. Freecox® is effective on all intracellular developmental stages of coccidia, i.e. on the proliferating phase of schizonts and gametocytes.

Freecox® interferes with the division of the nucleus and with the activity of the mitochondria, which are responsible for the respiratory metabolism of the parasites and in the macrogametes it damages the cell wall. In all intracellular development stages a severe vacuolization due to inflation of the endothelial reticulum occurs.

Freecox has more coccidiocidal property rather than coccidiostatic action.

Indications of use

Freecox® is a broad spectrum anticoccidial for treatment of coccidiosis in poultry. It is highly effective not only against all coccidia of chickens (E. acervulina, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. mivati, E. necatrix, E. tenella) and turkeys (E. adenoides, E. meleagrimitis), but also against those of geese (E. anseris, E. truncata).

Dosage and route of administration

Freecox® is administered via the drinking water of poultry. The basic dosage in poultry is 7 mg/kg bodyweight. One medication on 2 consecutive days is as a rule sufficient, if indicated treatment should be repeated after 5 days.

For the treatment of coccidiosis in poultry: 25 ppm (1 ml per liter of drinking water) of 3 consecutive days or 75 ppm (3 ml per liter of drinking water) for 8 hours per day on two consecutive days.
