Composition

Erythrovet®

Each gram of powder Contains:

200 mg Erythromycin (as Thiocyanate)

Mechanism of Action:

Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic that is bacteriostatic but in high concentration is bactericide. It absorbs from the gut and diffuses in all tissues. Erythromycin activity is higher in high pH especially in pH=8. Its excretion is from bile and a little from urine.

Indications of use

Erythromycin acts against Mycoplasma, Clostridia, Chlamydia, Bacillus anthracis, Corynebacterium, Listeria, Mycobacterium and Rickettsia but it is not efficient against Protozoa, Fungi and gram negative bacteria such as Entrobacter, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas and E.coli. It can be used for Bronchopneumonia, Bacterial enteritis, Urinary infections, Upper respiratory infections, Coryza, Sinusitis and CRD.

Dosage and route of administration

Poultry: 1g of powder in one liter of drinking water for 3-5 days.

Storage conditions

In dry, at controlled room temperature (under 25° C) place and away from light.

Withdrawal Time

Broilers: 3 days,

Table egg: 6 days

Drug interactions:

Do not use with Lincomycin and Clindamycin simultaneously.

Erythromycin has antagonism with Hydrocortisone, Sulfonamides and Tetracyclines.

Precautions

Sometimes after usage, diarrhea, nausea and inappetence is seen.
