Each g of Tiamulin + Oxytetracycline powder contains 25 mg Tiamulin hydrogen fumarate and 80 mg Oxytetracycline hydrochloride.
Tiamulin is a pleuromutilin antibiotic that attaches to 50s ribosomal subunit leads to prevention of protein synthesis in microorganism and finally stopping vital activities.
Oxytetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic with bacteriostatic effect which prevents attaching tRNA (Aminoacyl transfer RNA) to 30s ribosomal subunit causes inhibiting protein synthesis and bacterial growth. Also it affects on 50s ribosomal subunit resulting some changes in bacterial permeability.
Tiamulin + Oxytetracycline is effective on broad-spectrum of microorganisms like mycoplasmas, chlamydia, Rickettsia, Spirochetes and many gram positive and gram negative bacteria including aerobic and anaerobic such as E.coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella, Haemophilus, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Clostridia and some protozoans. It is used effectively for treatment and prevention of respiratory diseases as CRD, CCRD and infectious synovitis in poultry.
