Composition

Danoxifen®

Each kg of powder contains:

167g Danofloxacin

Mechanism of Action:

Danoxifen® is a wide spectrum antibiotic of fluoroquinolone group that is effective against microorganisms already resistant to other antibiotics. It inhibits action of “DNA gyrase ” enzyme inside bacteria and thus kills them. Danoxifen® is effective against many gram positive and gram negative bacteria as well as Mycoplasmas.

Indications of use

Danoxifen® is used to treat airsacculitis, respiratory disorders and infections due to E.coli and Mycoplasmas (CRD complex) in day old broiler chicks in the first week of life.

Dosage and route of administration

5 milligrams Danofloxacin per kg of body weight per day for treatment of infections due to E. coli including respiratory disorders, airsacculitis, and in mixed infections due to E.coli and Mycoplasma (CRD complex).

Treatment should continue for minimum 3 days or as advised by veterinarian. In practice 2 packs of Danoxifen® should be used in 1000 liters of drinking water. It is better to solve the package in 10 liters of the lukewarm water and then add the solution to main water supply. Solution should be prepared each day for same day use. During treatment period only medicated water should be available to poultry.

Storage conditions

Keep under 25° C (centigrade), away from humidity.

Withdrawal Time

3 days before slaughter in broilers. Do not use in layers during laying period.

Drug interactions:

It must not be used with cationic chemicals and florfenicol simultaneously.

After preparation of solution, wash your hands with water and soap. Keep out of reach of children.
